Sara Hughes, DMS, MPA, PA-C serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor University's Physician Assistant Studies program in Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. She previously served as Assistant Professor at the South College School of Physician Assistant Studies in Knoxville, Tennessee. Hughes currently serves on the Tennessee State Board of Physician Assistants.

Hughes is a certified physician assistant with clinical experience in emergency medicine, family practice, and palliative care. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School and her Doctor of Medical Science with a concentration in PA Education from Butler University. Her success at Butler University earned her a nomination into Phi Beta Phi honor society. She received the 2025 Award of Excellence award while at South College. Hughes is passionate about serving her community and is involved in her church as well as multiple service organizations.
