Background Checks and Drug Testing
Individuals must often consent to criminal background investigations and/or drug screenings to work within healthcare institutions and facilities. This process includes students who rotate in those areas during the clinical phase of this program.
Baylor requires all students to complete a criminal background check prior to formal enrollment or matriculation. An additional background check and/or drug test may be required prior to beginning the clinical phase of the program. Inability to obtain a successful background check may negatively impact progress in the program. Applicants should be aware that a prior criminal background could restrict the ability to obtain professional state licensure. Acceptance into the MPAS program does not imply or guarantee that a student will be able to obtain such licensure.
