Rebecca Clawson, DMSc, MAT, PA-C

Rebecca Eskew Clawson, DMSc, MAT, PA-C serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor for Baylor University’s Physician Assistant Studies program in Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. She previously served for 10 years at the LSU-Shreveport Physician Assistant Program She has experience in a wide range of teaching topics including cardiology, neurology, ENT, behavioral health, patient assessment, and PA advocacy. Her doctoral work centered around medical remediation for non-academic reasons, namely practice-based learning and improvement and creating a feedback culture.

She is a board-certified physician assistant with many years of experience in cardiology and urgent care medicine. She received her undergraduate degrees in English and Psychology and her Master of Teaching from Centenary College. She earned her PA degree from LSU Health Shreveport and her DMSc from Lynchburg University. Her PA education research interests include remediation of the struggling medical student, the science of learning, and approaches to hybrid education. 

Active in the Louisiana Academy of PAs as a Past-President and current Conference Chair, she is involved in and has a love for PA advocacy and continuing education. She also serves as a delegate to the American Academy of PAs House of Delegates, helping to shape official policies for the PA profession.
