Remediation
The Program’s preclinical, clinical, and supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPE) course-specific remediation tasks will differ due to the uniqueness of their learning outcomes. However, the general process for both years is similar. A remediation task will be deemed successful and complete if the student scores >/=80% on the associated remediation rubric AND meets any predetermined benchmarks on reassessments.
Deceleration and Dismissal
Students who are unsuccessful in their initial remediation in the preclinical year are referred to the Student Success & Progression Committee (SSPC) to develop a plan based upon the specific details of the situation. This plan may include (but is not limited to):
- Additional remediation tasks and reassessment;
- Entering deceleration status;
- Dismissal from the program.
Withdrawal
Students may withdraw from the program at any time. University policies regarding withdrawals can be found here: https://registrar.web.baylor.edu/enrollment-registration/university-withdrawal
